B.E. - Electronics and Communication Engineering

Electronics and Communication Engineering has gained importance in recent years due to its versatile application in every facet of Engineering and Technology. The Department of ECE was established in the year 2007 with an initial intake of 60 students. The student intake was subsequently increased to 90 in the year 2009 and it was increased to 120 in the year 2012. It offers four year UG degree programme B.E ECE which is duly approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The prime objective of the department is to enable the students to define and solve engineering problems that occur in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering using modern techniques and tools. The Department has 25 well qualified and well experienced faculty with sound technical knowledge and expertise in the recent trends of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The Laboratories of the department are well equipped with latest equipments and Instruments for the students and faculty to pursue their research and development activities. In addition to the laboratories required as part of the Anna University curriculum, the department has Texas Instrument’s Innovation Laboratory and PCB Design Laboratory as the unique feature of the department.

To equip the students and faculty in line with latest trends in Engineering, the department organizes technical events such as workshop, seminar, conference, symposia, FDP etc., in association with the professional bodies of international repute and the students’ association of the department.

Laboratory

In addition to the following 11 laboratories of the department required as part of the Anna University curriculum, the department established Innovation Lab in association with Texas Instruments Ltd., Bangalore.
