About Central Library

The VVCET Central Library strives for a high quality of library service which emphasizes the actual delivery of information rather than the actual delivery of documents to meet the generic as well as specific needs of users.   

   The fully computerized Library Information Systems helps the library staff and students tremendously in day-to-day operations. The Library uses MODERNLIB software system with barcode scanning facility, puts it on par with the best modern libraries in keeping track of issues and returns in a foolproof manner. An Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is available in the Library for searching of Library resources.

  More than 26,000 scholarly resources in digital and visual modes such as Books, Periodicals, e-Books, e-Journals, CD/DVDs., Back Volumes and Projects.

Facilities / Services:

At present the Library occupies a total floor area of 410Sq.m. and has seating for 75.  The Library functions from 8.45 A.M. To 6.30 P.M. on all working days.  And other services are:

  • Open Access system – The students and staff can have direct access to the book shelves.

Rules & Regulations
  • Students are allowed to library only on production of their authorized/valid Identity Cards
  • Perfect silence should be maintained in the library.
  • No discussion permitted inside the library.
  • Registration should be done to become a library member prior to using the library resources.
  • No personal belongings allowed inside the library.
  • Textbooks, printed materials and issued books are not allowed to be taken inside the library.
  • Using Cellular phones and audio instruments with or without speaker or headphone is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
  • Enter your ID at the gate entry system before entering library.
  • Show the books and other materials which are being taken out of the library to the staff at the entrance counter.
  • Library borrower card (ID Card with barcode) is not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
  • Users are not allowed to reshelf books after removing them from the shelf. Leave the books on the table.
  • Seats in the library may not be reserved.
  • No library equipment may be moved, modified or tampered with without permission from the librarian
Borrowing of Books: 
  • UG (1st & 2nd year) – 2 books for 15 days with 2 times renewal.
  • UG (3rd & 4th year) – 3 books for 15 days with 2 times renewal.
  • PG /Researchers – 4 books for 4 weeks with 2 times renewal.
  • Teaching staff – 5 books for 90 days with 2 times renewal
  • Non-Teaching staff – 3 books for 30 days with 1 time renewal
  • The fine will be charged @ Re.1 per day per book from the due date till the book is returned to library.
  • Use of internet (including the transmission or receiving of any material) in violation the copyright law. 
  • Use of internet for any commercial purpose is prohibited.
  • Using the network to attempt to make unauthorized access to any computer or computer system or restricted data files.
  • Users are not permitted to add, delete or modify the installed hardware /software, or to change preference settings.
  • Library computers are strictly for research purposes and anyone found opening non-educational sites will lose his/her rights to use the digital library.
